Every program
What's NPACE?
A non-profit continuing education provider, run by advanced practice providers for advanced practice providers.
NPACE stands for Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education. It's a 501(c)(3) non-profit, accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
It started with nurse practitioners and now serves every advanced practice provider, so a preceptor who practices as a PA is covered too. Its executive director, Terri Schmitt, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner.
Beyond courses, it publishes the Friends of NPACE podcast, a monthly newsletter called NPACE Notes, and free lectures on YouTube.

Why NPACE matters when you precept
Your contact hours count twice: once on your license, and again in your student's rotation.
Recertification runs on contact hours, and an ANCC-accredited provider means the hours you earn there count toward it. You clear the requirement and pick up something you can use in clinic on Monday.
Precepting puts that learning to work the same week. Finish a course on the current hypertension targets and the student in your clinic hears the current targets. Update your psychopharmacology and the student writes their first prescriptions against it.
Ready to teach? Become a preceptor and choose the students you take. Still in school? Find an NP clinical placement for your next rotation.
NPACE questions
What it is, what the discount covers, and where NPACE sets its own terms.
What does NPACE stand for?+−
Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education. It's a non-profit that runs accredited continuing education for nurse practitioners and other advanced practice providers.
Who can use the CLINICAL20 code?+−
Preceptors and NP students in the Clinical Match Me network, and joining that network costs nothing either way. You don't have to complete a rotation first.
Do NPACE contact hours count toward my recertification?+−
It's accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Check your own certifying body for how many hours you need this cycle and which categories they have to fall into, because that part varies by credential.
Can NP students attend an NPACE conference free?+−
It reserves five free seats at each live conference for eligible full-time NP and PA students and faculty. A student can use one free conference during their program, and faculty can use one every five years. Seats depend on availability and don't apply to the Cape Cod conferences. Apply through NPACE's faculty and student program.
Does NPACE offer other conference discounts?+−
Yes. It discounts conference registration for students, military veterans and retired clinicians, and some conferences discount registration if you stay at the conference hotel. Holding another offer? Ask NPACE whether it stacks with CLINICAL20 before you register, since they set the terms on their own discounts.
What's NPACE's cancellation policy?+−
You can cancel a conference registration up to two weeks before the event, minus a non-refundable $75 administration fee. Cancel your hotel room with the hotel directly, because it's booked separately.
How long can I watch NPACE conference sessions afterward?+−
Every attendee keeps access to conference content for 90 days from the conference start date.
I'm a PA, not an NP. Does this apply to me?+−
Yes. It writes its education for advanced practice providers generally, and Clinical Match Me places students with PA and physician preceptors as well. See the eligibility requirements.
